Monday 22 May 2023 Winners of the SUFC Cup at Roots HallĀ The boys' football team only went and won the SUFC Cup at Roots Hall on Thursday, completing a league and cup treble for the season. We have been in this final four years in a row, but we have lost the last two by slim margins, but this year the team have returned the trophy to HJS and they did so in style.

Wednesday 17 May 2023 Class 3's Assembly Well done to Class 3 for a brilliantly presented class assembly. The children confidently shared what it is like to experience a day in Year 3. The audience were treated to two joyful songs along with excellent writing and art work, with some PE demonstrations as well.

The squad have developed well over the season, making brilliant progress individually and as a team. This squad never gives up and always play with a smile.

Tuesday 25 April 2023 Class 1's assembly Congratulations to Class 1 for an incredible assembly. The children demonstrated a full school day to the audience, taking us through maths, English, History, PE and music lessons, to name a few. It's clear the children have learnt so much and have such wonderful confidence.

Tuesday 25 April 2023 Boys' football team win their final league game A huge well done to the boys’ football team for another convincing win in their final league game. This time the team were 6-1 winners over South Benfleet. The most pleasing part of the victory was the attitude that the boys displayed. They worked tirelessly and were very modest in victory- a great characteristic.

Wednesday 29 March 2023 Year 3 healthy breakfast session On Wednesday, Year 3 welcomed family members to a healthy breakfast session as part of the children's design and food technology learning. It was great to see the children so enthusiastically demonstrating their safe food preparation and cutting skills in combination with their knowledge and understanding of a healthy, balanced diet.

Wednesday 29 March 2023 Year 4 kindness stones This week Year 4 have been creating kindness stones to hand out to others to make them smile. Each term every year group organises a charity event or volunteering activity and this term Year 4 chose a random acts of kindness project, which aimed to make a positive difference to others. The children spent time decorating the stones, before handing them out 'randomly' to spread good feelings.

Thursday 9 March 2023 Year 5 Road Safety This week Year 5 participated in a Road Safety Workshop, which included a talk with our Road Safety Officer and a walk around the local area, focusing on crossing the road carefully.
